KINGS PLACE DEBUT CONCERT SOLOISTS
10 JUNE 2016
For its debut at Kings Place on 25 September 2016 under the baton of Mark Austin, Faust Chamber Orchestra will be joined by two young talented musicians, Katie Bray and Olivier Stankiewicz.
In this programme inspired by the joy, energy and mischief of Cherubino, British mezzo soprano Katie Bray will perform two arias from Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro (‘Non so più cosa son, cosa faccio’ and ‘Voi che sapete’) as well as an aria from Rossini's The Barber of Seville (‘Una voce poco fa’).
|
And London Symphony Orchestra Principal Oboe and YCAT 2016 artist Olivier Stankiewicz will perform Mozart's Oboe Concerto.
|
Classicism according to Cherubino will also feature Prokofiev ‘Classical’ Symphony, which the composer jestingly claimed might have been written by Haydn had he lived longer, and Schubert’s youthful Symphony No. 3, which is steeped in the world of Italian opera.
